Yard Operative – Attleborough, Norfolk

Anglian is looking for a Yard Operative for our main site in Attleborough, Norfolk.The role includes forklift and telehandler work.

Role Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers/ visitors to the main yard and supporting with loading and unloading requirements
• Working in conjunction with the Yard Manager, to maintain standards (signage, cleanliness, presentation and upkeep of the main site and surrounding buildings)
• Supporting with recycling duties including, segregation and picking of selected materials from a moving conveyor to maximise recycling rates
• General labouring duties within the yard
• Housekeeping to ensure that the facilities are kept clean, tidy, and free of trip hazards
• Following site and company health and safety rules and procedures at all times

Skills/Behaviours

• Ability to work as part of a team, in a fast paced, busy environment
• Telehandler and forklift experience desirable
• A strong work ethic and punctual
• Focus and concentration
• Good communication both written and verbal, to be able to understand and follow instructions and site rules
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company to be worn at all times
• Safety and environmental awareness, maintain all aspects of Health and Safety pertaining to the relevant work area
• Knowledge of the waste and metal recycling industries is desirable but not essential as full training will be given

Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder throughout the period of employment by the appointed line manager or divisional lead.
