The confetti has settled and trophies have been awarded. After being nominated as finalists in the Large Business of the Year category, Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd had the honour of attending the Norfolk Business Awards 2022.
Hundreds of innovative businesses from across Norfolk fought to be named Large Business of the Year. Entries were whittled down to four finalists where competition was fierce. After receiving the overwhelming news, we spent the following month being interviewed by judges, planning outfits and crossing our fingers.
The Norfolk Business Awards are an annual celebration of Norfolks business community. Held on 24th November at the Norfolk Showground, this black tie event was a great excuse to switch our hi-vis coats for our glad rags to celebrate Norfolks finest in style. This years event was the biggest so far, with a record of more than 600 people in attendance.
On the evening there were 11 awards up for grabs, including Employee of the Year and the Customer Excellence Award. The theme for the 2022 categories was Growth, to recognise the resilience that local businesses have endured through the pandemic.
After being nominated as finalists for the Large Business of the Year category, alongside Morgan Sindall Construction, Lisa Angel and NielsenIQ Brandbank, we had to undergo the judging process. Judges visited our headquarters based in Attleborough to get up close to the daily office action. They had the opportunity to ask our team questions, see our employees at work and find out what makes Anglian. It was a privilege to share Anglian’s story and history with the judges, as well as our future visions.
Each award category had its own entry criteria for the nominees to fulfil. For Large Business of the Year we had to demonstrate:
Following weeks of excitement and suspense, the awards night was finally upon us.
We were welcomed to the iconic Norfolk Showground venue with flutes of bubbly where we cheered with our colleagues. Here we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the event attendees and other nervous award nominees.
After being seated at our tables, we were treated to a delicious three course meal prepared by Bradsteds Catering, which was beautifully accompanied by carefully selected wines and local beers. Hosted by the inspirational broadcaster and podcaster, Jake Humphrey, the award presentation commenced.
Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd are absolutely thrilled to announce that we were crowned Large Business of the Year. Our table erupted with excitement and emotion as our name was revealed from the envelope. The team made their way onto stage where they were greeted by Jake and the event sponsors who presented us with a winners certificate and an expertly handcrafted oak trophy, made by Holder and Hook.
Our award was kindly sponsored by Jarrold Training who are a trusted provider of in-house and online professional training for businesses. Established for over 25 years, their expert trainers and coaches cater for businesses throughout East Anglia and the UK, with a training portfolio covering Leadership & Management, IT, Health & Safety and more.

This award would not have been possible without you and is a testament to your hard work and consistent high standards.
