Our teams are always exploring innovative methods to increase safety and efficiency across our sites. Recently our Asbestos Division have teamed up with Start Software to implement a new step within their Asbestos Management Compliance Package which offers QR code labels to be places at inspected areas.

Introducing our QR Code Labelling

Upon completion of each survey, our team now label each location with a unique QR code. Site staff and contractors can scan these on a mobile phone or tablet device to instantly open the asbestos register and view our full report for that area.

With the use of Start Software’s asbestos survey technology, Alpha Tracker, we have been able to offer our clients additional tools to help manage their asbestos on site. Start Software have been established since 2006, and Anglian have been using a variety of their systems since 2018, to improve customer experience.

This exciting system allows quick and easy access to the asbestos report for all when scanned, and removed the need for contractors to search for information in written paper reports. The QR code labels ensure that the asbestos report is up to date as it can be edited by the surveyor. The report is always accessible with any updates available immediately to site staff.

Online asbestos reports provide comprehensive information about the location and extent of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) on the site. This information is crucial for contractors who may be working in the vicinity of ACMs, ensuring that they can work safely and in compliance with asbestos regulations.

This solution for managing asbestos reports, eliminates the need for printing and distributing physical copies of the report which supports Anglian’s goal to work towards a net-zero target and reduces our impact on the environmental where possible. Having online documents also reduces the risk of lost or misplaced reports.

Nick Davenport, Anglian’s Asbestos Services Manager, implemented this method into the management surveys process. “We are pleased to offer this tool to our clients to improve the accessibility of our asbestos reports. We have received really positive feedback from our clients and contractors who have found the process of scanning the QR codes very efficient.”

QR Codes at the Norfolk Showground

One of our existing clients, the Norfolk Showground, who have also recently undertaken a waste management contract with our waste and recycling division, were one of the first to take advantage of this feature. QR codes have been positioned on agricultural buildings, outbuildings and offices where surveys were conducted. Contractors have since benefitted by having instant access to reports when visiting the prestigious site.

The Future of Surveys

The use of this industry leading system, developed by Start Software, is a game-changer for Anglian’s Asbestos Survey Division. This tool accompanies our current survey operations to provide our clients with a leading digital experience. If your commercial premises requires an asbestos survey, and you would like more information on how you can take advantage of our QR code labelling system, get in touch to discuss.
