Anglian Donate Skips to Norfolk Flood Victims to Help Clear Wreckage Left by Storm Babet

Following the devastating effects of Stom Babet that hit our local community on Friday 20th October Anglian Skip hire (part of Anglian Waste Recycling a division of Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd) provided three 20-yard roll-on skips for residents in the Attleborough area to utilise for the disposal of non-hazardous flood damaged household items free of charge. Items damaged by the flood will be collected and processed by Anglian, at its licensed 9-acre site in Norfolk.

Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd was established in 2007 and has grown rapidly over the last few years to include multiple divisions including waste management, scaffolding, asbestos surveys and removals and earthworks.

Lee Storer, Managing Director of Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd added: “Anglian has been associated with the waste sector for many years due to the nature of our industry and services. This year, we have developed a standalone skip division to provide a full waste management service to our customers. It was an absolute no-brainer to donate some of our skips and our staff members’ time to help with the storm damage. Many of our staff live in the Attleborough area and we felt we had a duty of care to help our community at a time of need.”

Lee Hoffman of Anglian Skip Hire said: “The last thing people need to worry about in a crisis is paying for skips and removal of household items destroyed by the floods. We wanted to help as soon as we realised how badly the flooding had affected some areas of our community.

“Watching the devasting results of the flooding, particularly around the Mill Lane and Ferguson Drive areas, we knew we had to do something. As a local company based in Attleborough, our thoughts are with the community affected by these floods.”

Following on from the delivery of the initial three skips several local businesses contacted Anglian to donate further skips to assist the clean-up efforts, those companies were JSP Electrical, Watling Construction & Groundworks, A W Myhill Euronics, Tom’s Fish Bar, Breckland Lodge, Newalls Plant Ltd and Racehaul Ltd.
