HR & Payroll Assistant (Maternity Cover)

We have an opportunity for an HR & Payroll Assistant to join Anglian on a fixed-term contract for a 6 month basis to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone willing to develop their knowledge in a real business environment.

The role would be based at our main office in Attleborough, Norfolk reporting to the HR Manager.

The successful candidate would be expected to support the HR Manager on HR and Payroll administration for circa 100 employees.

Duties Include:

Supporting general HR administration tasks including but not limited to, setting up interviews, offer letters, starter packs, probation reviews, taking minutes at meetings, generating reports, updating employees’ files, administration of starters and leavers process, updating our internal software systems, auditing, and general filing and ad-hoc-project work in conjunction with the HR Manager.
Supporting general Payroll administration tasks including but not limited to, timesheet processing, chasing queries, inputting salary and hours information, processing deductions, and holiday pay requirements, in conjunction with the HR Manager.

Person Specification:

Highly organised combined with strong attention to detail
Effective communicator, with a willingness to learn a variety of skills.
Excellent verbal, numerical, and written skills
Confident and able to work under pressure, to set deadlines.
Working knowledge of current payroll legislation (desirable)
Previous experience of working within an HR or Payroll background (desirable) but not essential as full training will be given.
Previous knowledge of MS Packages including MS Word and Excel
GCSE background or equivalent
We are looking for a candidate on a part-time basis for this fixed term contract for approximately 16 hours per week, Mondays, and Wednesdays, between the business hours of 8:00, am - 5:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch.
